Quantela platform user manual

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) workflow is a set of operational tasks which should be carried out in a defined sequence. These may be automated tasks which can be executed without any further manual intervention (e.g. send an email with system-generated text to a predefined address), or they may be manual tasks where human intervention or resolution is required to complete the task.

A SOP in the Quantela platform is executed in response to an Event. This event may be triggered by an Automation Rule, or it may be triggered by an external event that has been received an incoming event Adapter.

Quantela Automation provides a flow-based editor to define SOP workflows. A workflow can include a number of different types of task, including the following:

  • Email – send an email message one or more email addresses.

  • External task– invoke an external system through an outbound adapter in the Quantela platform.

  • User task – notify one or more operators by means of the Quantela platform dashboard and/or the Field Officer mobile application.

Note

Some of these tasks may require external systems and services to be configured.

The screen-shot below shows a SOP workflow being created with an action to notify one or more operators.
